Quick And Easy Kid Friendly Avocado Toast Recipe

This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx on behalf of Brownberry Organic Bread

Finding nutritious and delicious meals that my kids love can be a challenge. Each of my boys are picky eaters, but in different ways. Noah enjoys crunchier textures, while Jo favors soft textures. So, meal times aren’t always the easiest.

However, one thing that always seems to work to get these guys to try new foods, is to allow them to help me cook. Yes, something as simple as allowing them to gather, mix, and prepare a meal with their mama gives them the confidence to try something new.

That is why I was beyond excited when BabbleBox sent over this box of goodies from Brownberry Organic Bread to help us prepare more yummy meals together.

Our box included: Brownberry Organic White Made with Whole Wheat Bread, reusable zip loc bags, biodegradable plates made of wheat straw, Disney’s Mickey Mouse cookie cutters, a chef hat, an apron, and some Disney’s Mickey Mouse activity sheets.

First, let me tell you more about Brownberry Organic White Made with Whole Wheat Bread. It is a Non-GMO project verified, plant based bread that includes Disney’s Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on the packaging.

Suspecting that Disney’s Mickey and Minnie Mouse would grab my boys attention, I knew we had to make our favorite breakfast—avocado toast! It hasn’t always been a favorite, but as I continued to introduce it to the boys, they began to like it.

Let’s get into the recipe below…

What you will need:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 4 slices of Brownberry Organic White Made with Whole Wheat Bread
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped onions
  • Your favorite toppings

Now, let’s get into how we prepared our avocado toast:

First

Toast the Brownberry Organic White Made with Whole Wheat Bread in a 425°F oven for a few minutes until golden brown

Second

Place avocado in small bowl

Third

Add salt, pepper, lime juice, and onions

Fourth

Mash up to desired consistency

Fifth

Spread each piece of toast with some mashed avocado

Sixth

Add desired toppings- we added tomatoes and blueberries

Seventh

ENJOY 🙂

I hope this inspires you to get into the kitchen with your tiny humans, and remember that choosing organic foods is a part of living a sustainable lifestyle.
