This blog post is sponsored by Art of Green®, however all opinions and thoughts are my own.
If you’re here, that means you are looking for ways to maintain a green home this spring.
At first, switching over to a more sustainable lifestyle can be intimidating. Especially when there is an abundance of products to choose from, and all sorts of rules to follow.
My biggest road block to maintaining a green home was affordability. Some of the products were priced way above my budget for cleaning products.
This is why I love Art of Green, and their product line. They are priced at $3.00 which is right above normal cleaning products, but significantly lower than other green and eco-friendly products.
Art of Green® is bringing an uncompromising cleaning performance with everyday affordability. They were even voted a 2020 product of the year. You cannot beat their performance and affordability when it comes to green products. (totally my opinion, and I am standing by it)
So, with that said, I first want you to start small. Check out these easy ways to maintain a green home while cleaning this spring.
1. Reuse cleaning containers
Yes, something as simple as saving those old containers is helping the planet, and shifting you into a sustainable lifestyle.
2. Use the cleaning gear you have
Don’t go out buying things to be more green, or green specific products. This can be apart of the problem. Use what you have already. This can include your broom, dust pan, non-green products, mops, vacuums, and any other products you use everyday.
3. Use secondhand cleaning gear
If you don’t own durable gear, be sure to head to your local thrift stores. Second hand stores sometimes have a collection of cleaning gear that you can put to use. Save the plant.
4. Use Art of Green’s multipurpose products
Art of Green is a 98% naturally derived multi-surface cleaner, has a biodegradable formula, along with being a USDA-Certified bio- based product. It is safe for sensitive skin, and great for use around kids, and pets. The main thing is that it is tough on dirt, grease and grime. Oh, did I mention affordable?
5. Recycle
This is a no-brainer right? Well, sometimes its not if you have never recycled before. The easiest way to begin to recycle is to use 3 separate bins. 1 for plastic, 1 for cans, 1 for paper & cardboard.
6. Use Microfiber Cloths
The tiny fibers pickup more dirt, dust and food than most cloths. They are reusable, which saves you money but also safe for the environment. They also can remove up to 99% of bacteria on surfaces.
7. Be Kind To Yourself
Especially if this is a new journey for you. I do not have it all figured out, but what I do is try. Every single day I try to make my home just a bit more green and eco-friendly. And one day it will be. All because of the tiny changes I choose to make today.
In conclusion, maintaining a green home isn’t as hard as it seems. It is about taking small steps to a bigger goal. Sustainability. Use what you have, pickup Art of Green’s multipurpose line at Harris Teeter, Target.com, H-E-B, or Sprouts, and give yourself grace. The wipes are now available on Amazon.com
